ABEL CUP 2006 (Kingston)

Final
Vita Internazionale SC 0
Soccer Post Arsenal 5

The reigning ABEL Cup champs were too much for the squad to handle on this day. Missing three key starters who were able to play in the other tournament games and with no substitutions the wheels fell off pretty hard in this one. This game also marked the end of the teams 9 game unbeaten streak in which they'd begun this years campaign with. Great efforts were put in by all and the team was quite satisfied with an improved 2nd place finish (last year the team went out in the semi's) with over 20 teams competing in the tourney. Striker Pietro Cutrona was honoured in the final ceremony taking home the tournament's golden boot award scoring a monumental 9 goals in only 7 games.

Semi-Final
Vita Internazionale SC 1
Calabria Italia 0

Pietro Cutrona scored early in the match, which made all of the difference in this defenisive struggle. The midfield and defense played particularly well with Vito Cutrona notching his 4th shutout of the tournament.

Quarter-Final
Vita Internazionale SC 3
Pierrefonds Cobras 0

The squad came out blazing in this one with Pietro Cutrona scoring twice within the first 5 minutes. The first being a phenomenal individual effort and the second being a tight finish ending a sweet passing play. Pierrefonds pushed hard early in the second, but could not produce any significant chances on goal. Pietro Cutrona secured his hat trick late in the second on a brilliant pass from keeper Vito Cutrona, who had his 3rd tournament shutout when all was said and done.

Round 2
Vita Internazionale SC 2
Ottawa Crown Heights 1

An excellent defensive performance against a very skilled squad. Ottawa controlled much of the play, but managed very few scoring chances. Steve Murano opened the scoring with a strike from well beyond the 18 yard box. After Ottawa tied the game up, late in the second, the game went into golden goal overtime. About 2 minutes into the extra time Pietro Cutrona finished an excellent passing play to give Vita a quaterfinal berth.

Group Stage
Vita Internazionale SC 3
Guelph Gunners 1

After having already clinched first place in their division prior to the final group stage game, the team started off quite slowly. Paulo Soares woke the squad up suddenly with a phenomenal strike from well outside the 18 yard box. Pietro Cutrona managed to polish another 2 spectacular efforts, which pretty much sealed the deal mid way through the second.

Group Stage
Vita Internazionale SC 3
Ottawa St. Anthony's Italia 0

Phenomenal control displayed by the squad throughout the match. Pietro Cutrona tucked away two goals and set up another. Tian Liang polished off the remaining goal showing some nice speed in doing so. Vito Cutrona picked up his second clean sheet in as many tries.

Group Stage
Vita Internazionale SC 0
Calabria Italia 0

An all around strong team defensive performance. The squad could not pull out a victory despite midfielder Sal Cutrona's two cross-bar efforts. Shutout picked up by Vito Cutrona.
